# 63 : (VIDEO) : BHAGAVAD GITA : CHAPTER 5 : " The Yoga of Action and Knowledge " : EXPOSITION OF VERSES 13 TO 17

"Our personality is like a flute. If we are able to empty ourselves of ego the Lord himself will sing through you. But when all the ego blocks are there, even the Lord’s sound becomes distorted. So be empty of this ego and be an instrument – a flute – in the hands of the Lord.”

“Law of karma is the law that makes the universe function…The laws are part of the universe and they have to be there if the universe is to function in a systematic, harmonious way.”

“The whole universe exists in that divinity alone – so also you and I. So stop worrying – the train is moving. Unload the luggage. Relax.”

"…a very famous verse (Verse 10)…to be like a lotus leaf…staying in water…yet it remains untouched by water…So, similarly…it is a slow, gradual process of detaching myself from the various layers of the personality…the more I am indentified with my true nature, this false identity will…fall away.”

“Karma yogis perform action…having given up all attachments…For self-purification karma yoga is done.”

“Vedanta says unless you tackle the root cause and that is avidya…kama and karma will continue. Ignorance breeds desires. Desire, satisfied, breeds more desires…”

Therefore, I welcome and let go with the full confidence that there is an orderliness in the universe.  Everyone of us gets what we exactly deserve. May be not what you desire, but what you deserve…The law of Karma is not haphazard."

# 58 : (VIDEO) : BHAGAVAD GITA : CHAPTER 5 : " The Yoga of Action and Knowledge " : EXPOSITION OF VERSES 1 TO 3

“So the whole technique of karma yoga… is to convert pravrtitti marga into nivritti marga. The path of renunciation, nivritti marga it is called. The path of activity is called as pravritti marga. So by converting karma into yoga what we are actually trying to accomplish is to make pravritti marga, a help and support in nivritti.  Karma should not bind me anymore if I know how to perform Karma yoga.”

“…the world cannot twist the arm of such a person because he has no…hopes and expectations. Take the world as it comes…let it go as it goes. So be a sannyasi in the midst of this action…don’t think you have to give up all activity.”
