# 52 : (VIDEO) : BHAGAVAD GITA : CHAPTER 4 : " The Yoga of Knowledge as well as the disciplines of Action and Knowledge " : EXPOSITION OF VERSES 24 TO 31

“It is that one divine truth that is manifest through all beings, all things, all…actions. So our ordinary actions or our religious duties, all of them can be converted into a yagna.”

“Offering the self (ego) as an aahuti into the fire of Brahman. So to reach the state of realization of Aham Brahmasmi, this aham must come to an end.”

“By getting things you are not going to attain moksha. Moksha has nothing to do with getting. It is always in giving, abandoning, renouncing...so sacrifice this little self into the fire of Brahman. The ego has to end, the ‘I’ has to end.”

That openness to knowledge…has been a chief characteristic of this culture…right from the days of the Vedas till today. Our spiritual tradition has always encouraged the pursuit of knowledge.”

“The knowers of Brahman tell us there are 2 types of knowledge – the para vidya, the apara vidya. And both are to be known”

“…the Gita’s special contribution…to the Vedanta philosophy is this – the doctrine of the avatara. Strangely, the word ‘avatara’ is not used in the Gita.”
